Tyler Markham
My passion for hunting started at a young age when my grandpa introduced me to the thrill of the hunt. Coon, rabbit, and squirrel hunting were my favorite activities back then, but I quickly became hooked on whitetails after shooting my first deer at the age of seven. When I discovered bow hunting at 15, it became a driving force in my life, and I quickly prioritized it above all other activities.
Growing up, my grandpa's 26-acre property in Southern Ohio was my go-to spot for hunting, but eventually, I started gaining permission to hunt on other farms and buying into leases. In 2010, my family and I purchased our first farm in Ohio, which I fully developed into a whitetail paradise. Since then, I have bought and sold multiple farms, always striving to create the best possible hunting environment.
Over the years, I've hunted all over the United States, including destination states like Ohio, Illinois, Kentucky, and Wyoming, and have been fortunate enough to take several trophy bucks, mostly with archery tackle. In 2014, I shot my first Boone and Crockett buck in Ohio, scoring 171". Taking that trophy on my own managed land fueled my passion for land management, and I have since studied all types of cover, food, and management practices needed to create true whitetail meccas that deer want to live in.
Since forming Legacy Acres Land Company, my family and I have relocated to Canal Winchester, Ohio, fully committed to providing premium hunting properties to the area. I am married to my high-school sweetheart, Molli, and we have three beautiful daughters, Milaney, Mitilida, and Minroe. When we're not on the farm, you can find us on the soccer field or volunteering in our church or hanging out with friends!
My passion for land management and creating customized hunting properties led me to start Legacy Acres Land Company. Ben Rising
Ben has lived in Ohio his whole life. He grew up in a rural country setting where he learned to trap, hunt and fish at a very early age from his father and family friends. Ben was taught early on by working on local farms, sawmills and helping his dad and grandfather that hard work was how you achieved goals and that laziness in anything wasn’t good! If you're going to do something, do it right!!! Ben has molded this attitude into his pursuit of Whitetail deer and anything else that his tags are good for. Ben started logging at the age of 16 and started his own logging business at the age of 20. Ben still buys timber and runs part of the logging operations to this day for Tusco Hardwoods in Sugarcreek, Ohio. He married his childhood sweetheart Melody in 1998 and they have 4 boys and a girl. Ben started filming in 2002 for Drury Outdoors and continued till 2013. He has since started Whitetail Edge and has appeared on Bone Collector also. Ben’s passion is this Whitetail Edge show! He truly wants to help others learn how to Pursue and successfully harvest the deer you're after. Ben has written many articles on mature deer and has harvested many upper end deer including three bucks over 200″ and 13 from 173-194 with his bow . Ben and family attend NewPointe Community Church in Millersburg, Ohio and love camping and baseball.
